一次前往台東工作的旅程，讓曾任職紐約時報雜誌、新聞週刊的知名日籍攝影師若木信吾，對當地原住民的歌謠、舞蹈和豐年祭等傳統文化深深著迷，並結識了去年以《跳格子》拿下金馬獎最佳新人獎的「圖騰樂團」吉他手兼主唱Suming（姜聖民），開啟了這個異鄉客拍攝這部紀錄片的契機。為期三年的拍攝過程中，若木信吾追隨圖騰五位來自台灣四方的成員，紀錄著他們為了追求音樂理想，往返故鄉與台北之間的點滴，用都會冷漠倉促生活步調與部落樸實真摯人情，在影像間凝聚著濃郁的鄉愁，清晰勾勒了這幾位個性南轅北轍的原住民Rocker，對自己傳統文化的深刻情感和認同。
The members of band, TOTEM, place great importance in the area where they were born. When participating in their annual native region festival, each member returns to their homeland. The busy schedule which leads to their expressions usually seen when they are in the big city, are all forgotten, and their facial expressions are full of innate attractiveness. This is a documentary movie, where a Japanese director follows the search of the homeland roots of these members.
