2004年，一個學生導演用原本要註冊的學費買了台破DV，為自己搞社會運動的老朋友拍了一堆生活和抗爭紀錄，他們關注的議題叫做「反高學費」。五年之後這些紀錄朋友們的「家庭錄影帶」，竟累積成一部紀錄片！《粉墨登場》中的青年從二十歲反到結婚生子，不再青春削瘦的他們，挺著小腹繼續抗爭。革命的年代已過，但革命「老青年」卻還沒死，日復一日的生活和抗爭！本片耗時六年完成，以人文精神為出發，為全世界第一部探討高學費問題的專業紀錄片。

In 2004, a student director bought a low-tech DV and recorded the lives of her old friends who engage in social movement along with procedures of their demonstrations. The subject of their demonstrations is: "against high tuition fees". Now, Those students in the film are no longer young and energetic. The days for revolution have passed away, but those "aged young guys" have not.
